A Welshpool man has been invited to demonstrate his new brand of black loo paper in Dubai and is looking for partners to share his exhibition stand at the Hotel Show in the World Trade Centre.

Mike Bebb, from Arddleen near Welshpool, came up with idea when he came across a number of celebrities, including Simon Cowell and Beyonce, buying coloured toilet paper when he was in Los Angeles.

Back home he researched the product and discovered only one company in the world producing coloured loo paper and launched his own brand of black paper for the hotel and leisure industry called Lusso Carta, which means coloured paper in Italian.

Mike says the main principle is to offer a feel of luxury like celebrities have. “I have access to the only black toilet paper in the country that is aimed at this hotel sector and a I believe it is much more appealing for the hotel market due to the volumes they use.
“I also see the paper as a great talking point between hotel guests and would also add that something different to the bathrooms.”

He sent his proposal and a sample to a distribution chain in Dubai and they were keen for the product which they say would be good in the middle east market.
“I then got invited to exhibit at the Hotel Show at the Dubai World Trade Centre to launch and show off my product. I have been invited as this product hasn't been seen over there before,” he added.
Mike was awarded a UK Trade & Industry grant of £2,500 but needs a further £5,000 to make the event so is looking for other companies with something to offer to join him in Dubai.
