New chef at Bull and Heifer

A new chef who has worked under Michelin Star chefs is to bring a taste of his expertise and Spanish flavours to one of Montgomeryshire’s leading public houses and restaurants.

And tonight  (Friday) The Bull and Heifer at Bettws Cedewain will be showing off the talents of new chef Diego Salinas as part of a Spanish Night being held at the popular pub.

Diego will be leading the culinary team at the pub and will be offering a wide range of world foods and popular dishes well as a range of Spanish, Japanese, Tai and Italian which he has specialised in.

Born and raised in Bogota, Columbia, he moved to Spain and has been a chef there for 20 years and in the UK for the past two years.

“Cooking has been Diego’s passion from a really young age,” said a spokesperson for The Bull and Heifer. “

“Diego has won many competitions but is most proud of winning ‘Best Chef in Catalonia’ in 2010. His favourite dishes to cook are large main meals including fish and meat with emphasis on quality and very high standards.

“His favourite dish on the current menu is Oriental Beef, and his new menu will be a mixture of world foods and some good old classics. 

“Focus will be on good quality local produce whenever possible and ensuring there is something on the menu to suit every taste.”
