Local private sector landlords and letting agents are being reminded that they need undertake training and obtain a licence by this November under new housing legislation.

Rent Smart Wales was introduced last year under Part 1 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 and requires all Private Sector Landlords and Letting Agents who manage properties to register and if applicable undertake training and obtain a licence by November 23.

Powys County Council’s Private Sector Housing Team will be supporting landlords with Rent Smart Wales registration and addressing any questions surrounding Welsh Government’s Rent Smart Wales scheme in a series of roadshows across Powys.

There will be a formal presentation on Rent Smart Wales that will begin at 6pm at the Town Hall on June 29.
