MP calls EE service “unacceptable”

Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies said he will take up the plight of long-suffering Welshpool EE customers, calling the level of service they are receiving as “unacceptable”.

Mr Davies said he is listening to the concerns of constituents who have suffered a summer of signal torment whilst being fobbed off by substandard customer service and press office spin. He intends to speak with senior management about the ongoing issue.

It appears that overgrown trees blocking the signal between two masts has caused the problem, but this was apparently identified weeks ago and customers are still waiting for normal service to resume. Many have requested to leave their EE contracts.

“The service being provided by EE in the Welshpool area is unacceptable,” said Mr Davies. “EE is letting down its customers, and seems not to be acting with anything like the proper level of urgency. We need action now to understand what's causing the problem. And urgent action to fix it.”

Earlier this week, a member of the EE social media team reassured customers from his own Facebook account that action was being taken on Wednesday, but as of today the signal problems persist.

A Facebook page set up to publicise the problems has more than 400 members.
