Greenhous to close Welshpool Ford garage on Monday

Greenhous Ford has announced its Welshpool branch will close on Monday with the loss of six jobs.

Business from the Salop Road branch will be transferred to Newtown along with some of the staff who have been relocated

Dealer Principal Tony Mellish said: “Greenhous has taken a strategic decision to close our Welshpool dealership and move the business to our Greenhous Ford dealership in Newtown.

“We have found that the Welshpool dealership was difficult to locate and had a dated infrastructure which made it problematic in attracting new business.

“There has been recent, substantial financial investment in the Newtown dealership including a brand new, state of the art Ford Transit Centre and the refurbishment of the car dealership. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the high quality of customer experience that is delivered by the staff at Newtown.

“Greenhous will work to ensure that the transition from Welshpool to Newtown is as seamless as possible. We wish to thank our customers for their continued support of Greenhous Ford.”

The Welshpool site was first operated by WR Davies before both Welshpool and Newtown branches were purchased by Greenhous
