Fashion chain Next has said it has no current plans to open in Welshpool, but has not closed the door completely.
The High Street brand has been quick to follow fellow retail giants Halfords to clarify its position with regards to the multi-million pound development taking shape on the edge of the town’s centre.
Next was linked to a move onto the site before the weekend along with a number of other household names but has contacted mywelshpool to say no, for now.
Spokesperson Rebecca Young said: “We don't currently have anything on our store opening schedule regarding Welshpool. However this is updated fortnightly, so might change over the coming weeks.”
This morning (Monday), Halfords said it had no plans to open on the site which is being developed around a new Tesco Supermarket.
