Rates budget is your business

31/01/2017 @ 07:53

Local businesses are being offered a new way of commenting on the county council revenue budget for the coming financial year.

In the past, business rates-payers and their representatives have been invited to a public meeting at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells to comment on the council’s revenue budget.

But, this year the council is inviting businesses to comment on the 2017/18 revenue budget as part of an online consultation exercise.

Cabinet Member for Finance, Councillor Wynne Jones said: “Traditionally we have held a public meeting in County Hall which has not always been well attended, limiting access to those who operate within easy travelling distance of Llandrindod Wells.

“The budget is important for business the length and breadth of the county and by providing an opportunity for businesses to express their views online gives business the same opportunity to comment no matter where they are based.”

Those who want to find out more and comment on the budget should visit the council’s website and follow the link:  http://www.powys.gov.uk/en/corporate/find-out-about-consultations-in-powys/budget-survey/

The consultation will run from Friday through to February 14, comments can also be submitted in writing during that time.
