OTMS (17)
A smaller show of Otms this week, with trade remaining similar. Otm cows topped at £1133.28 (144ppkg) for a 787kg Welsh Black from H & W Williams, Goetre. FJ Owens & Co, LLettygynfach, presented a Blonde cow weighing 722kg making £1046.90 (145ppkg). Cows 48 to 72 months topped at £937.02 (138ppkg) for a 679kg Welsh Black from RD & AR Gardner, Nantyrhymau. H & W Howells, Goetre also presented a Welsh Black Younger cow weighing 620kg making £868 (140ppkg).
Heifers under 48 months topped at £975.54 (142ppkg) for a Aberdeen Angus heifer weighing 687kg from RE Astley, Rhosgomorog.
Otm Cows (x11) averaged 121.40ppkg / £811.74
Cows 48 – 72 months (x4) averaged 120.16ppkg / £704.43
Heifers under 48 months (x2) averaged 120ppkg / £770.24

Standards (1069) to 265ppkg from BE & BE Langford, Llettymeibion. Others to 240ppkg from RH Clifton, Marchville. Average of 188.96ppkg.
Mediums (2023) to 266ppkg from GM & HI Evans, Plasiolyn. Others to 263ppkg from JG & MWA Clayton, Great Brimmon. Average of 201.47ppkg.
Heavies (451) to 248ppkg & 244ppkg from RA Davies, Llawnt Isaf. Others to 237ppkg from P Andrews, Lower Fachwen. Average of 214.51ppkg.
Over Weights (18) to 219ppkg from AE Casewell, Bodynfoel. Others to 203ppkg from GTW Andrew, Bwlch. Average of 204.57pp/kg.
CULL SHEEP (3056)
A slightly smaller show of 3056 culls here this week, seeing averages of £52.17 for ewes and £72.46 for rams. Ewes topped at £123 from GM Mills, Penisaf Manledd. GH & CA Jones & Son, Brynmawr, sold 2 ewes making £109. Rams topped at £89 for 10 from HE & ME Jones, Penygelli. And 2 rams from Evan Davies & Co, Red House, also making £89.
COWS & CALVES
A small entry of just 5 cows and calves topped at £1650 for a Limousin x 1st calver with Limousin male calf from JBC & AM Gwilliam, Bwlchgarth. Similar outfits from the same place made £1390 and £1030.
F J Owens & Co, Llettygynfach, presented a 2012 Blonde A’quitaine cow with a blonde x heifer calf making £1450.
