OTMS (24)
An entry of 24 otms forward this week topping at £1237.95 (135ppkg) for a 917kg Hereford from D & MC Hughes, Lower Gwernycil. H & S Watkins, Cammen Uchaf, presented a Limousin otm cow weighing 701kg making £1037.48 (148ppkg).
A Younger Angus Cow from J V Davies & Co, Gareth Fawr, weighed in at 731kg and made £1016.09 (139ppkg). Heifers under 48 months topped at £1059.24 (156ppkg) for a 679kg Hereford from S Vogel, Lower Tyn-y-Cefn. GP Pugh & Son, The Garth, presented a 674kg Limousin heifer making £1051.44 (156ppkg).

Standards (758) to 242ppkg from Red House Farm, Aberhafesp. Others to 237ppkg from HG Ellis & Co, Tynywern. Average of 194.91ppkg.

CULL SHEEP (2795)
Another good show of cull ewes about this week with more hill breed ewes about the averages were slightly down seeing an average of £47 for ewes and £74 for rams. Ewes topped at £121 for a pen of 8 ewes from DES & ER Bickerton, Lloran Uchaf. A C Jones, Caestwbwrn, presented 4 ewes making £120. S J Smith, Penybryn, Castle Caereinion, also presented 4 ewes making £120.
Rams topped at £148 for 3 rams from MM& R Morris, Maestanyglwyden.
BREEDING EWES
A good entry of 628 breeding ewes for our first catalogued sale of the season which saw 20 Texel x yearling ewes hit the top of £173 from J C Morgan, Tynllwyn, and another lot of 20 from the same home hitting £170.
Suffolk x yearling ewes from RF & DJ Price, Pentrenant, reached £158 & £150 with others from A H Jones & Son, Hirrhyd, sold to £150,£142 & £140.
2/3 year olds Suffolk x ewes fro RG & JL Peate, Cwmderw, hit £132 with others to £128.
Breeding ewes will be sold at 11.30am next Monday with the next catalogued sale being Monday 14th August – please contact the mart office for info.
STORE CATTLE (75)
A small sale of store cattle this week saw averages of 224.21ppkg or £1023.20 for steers and heifers averaged 219.51ppkg or £906.84.
