OTMS (10)
A smaller show of otm cattle sold to a top of £1170.45 (153ppkg) for a 765kg Limousin from TH & GM Watkins & Son, Cefnllwyd. Also form the same home was another Limousin weighing 740kg making £1169.20 (158ppkg).
Averages of the day were as follows:
OTM Cows (x8) 135.83ppkg / £891.75.
Cows 48-72 months (x2) 128.03ppkg / £732.95.
Overall Average 134.44ppkg.
PRIME CATTLE
Two prime cattle forward from JM & SM Rowlands, Dolwen, sold two Limousin heifers weighing 604kg and 637kg making 252ppkg and 244ppkg respectively.

An entry of 48 spring lambs sold to an overall average of 290.40ppkg.
Standards (26) to 230ppkg & 319ppkg form G Evans, Lletty Gwyn. Others to 293ppkg from B R Corfield, Rhos Royal Farm. Average of 292.07ppkg.
Mediums (21) to 309ppkg from B H Evans & Son, Rowton Grange. Others to 291ppkg from C Crowther, East Dudston. Average of 290.37ppkg.
CULL SHEEP (1573)
A slightly reduced entry of 1573 cull sheep yesterday met with an average of £63.71 for ewes and rams averaged £82. Ewes peaked at £132 from E L Andrew, Trewern Cottage. JS & A Howells, Shadog Farm, sold a pen of 19 ewes also making £132. Overall ewes of good fleshing were in demand once again. Rams topped at £145 from H & E Powell, Llwyngwilym.

CADE LAMBS
A reduced entry of cade lambs sold to an improved trade peaking at £35 and averaged £11.
STORE LAMBS
Another seasonal entry of 90 store lambs continued to sell incredibly well, with the best short term farming lambs peaking at £84 for 7 texel x mixed and clean lambs from E Gethin & Co, Ty Coch, other short term lambs hit £82.50 and £81 from A K Lloyd, Ivy House Farm.
COUPLES
An entry of 192 ewes with lambs at foot sold to a much faster pace with a large number of buyers and better weather conditions on the horizon. Trade peaked at £208 for a Texel x yearling with twin lambs from Miss S Jones, Arbennig, further lots from the same home and with single lambs at foot sold for £190, £188, £172 and £170. B Jones, Springbank, sold a Texel x yearling with twins for £199 and full mouth Texel x ewes with twins for £170.
Strong singles traded between £60 - £80 a life with second quality £40 and £50. Best twins regularly hitting £50 - £60 a life with poorer sorts £40 - £45.
