OTMS (42)
a good show of otm cattle this week sold to a top of £1487.40 (148ppkg) for a 1005kg Friesian cow from J HH Jerman & Co, Wernddu. JM & SM Rowlands, Dolwen Farm, presented a 750kg Limousin making £1290 (172ppkg). A Welshblack otm cow from W D Morris & Son, Green fields, weighed in at 808kg making £1123.19 (139ppkg). Cows 48 – 72 months topped at £1802.50 (175ppkg) for a Charolais weighing 1030kg.

CULL SHEEP (2736)
A big show of culls this week saw averages of £67.81 for ewes and rams averaged £87. topping the cull ewes section at £127 was a pen of 11 from D Evans & Co, Manor Farm. J & J Beavan & Sons, Winsbury, presented a pen of 12 ewes making £126.50. rams topped at £164 from E H Pennie & Son, Gwern-Yr-Ychain. D Evans & Co, Manor Farm, sold a ram to £150.

A good entry of 550 couples broke down as 149 older ewes and 401 hoggs with lambs again sold to a sharp trade. R P Thomas, Troed Y Gaer, sold 5 Texel yearlings and 2 year old ewes with single lambs to £200. As found suffolk x with twins hit £180 from JM & IM Lewis, Erwbarfe. As found Charollais x with twins hit £175 from M J Williams, Pontyperson. As found welsh ewes with singles sold to £102 from A Evans, Brynperffaith, with twins from the same home reaching £132. Full mouth Suffolk x full mouth ewes with singles hit £148 from M J Williams, Pontyperson with others to £138 and £133.Te best hoggs also sold to a terific trade with Texel x hoggs from R I Owen, Cwmfynnon, selling to £212. BJ & MY Davies, Gorse Farm, sold Texel hoggs for £210, £192 and £185. Price & Price, Cwmearl, sold Texel hoggs for £192 and £188.
I C Goodwin & Son, Lower Esgair, sold texel hoggs to £198, £170 & £180. Best coloured mules hit £188 from E & SM Hughes, High Park farm. £185 was reached for 20 from C E Samuel, Lower Ystrad. JV Davies & Co, Garth Fawr, sold a pen of 6 to £183 and a further 24 coloured mule hoggs for £180. majority of hoggs traded between £140 and £160 with the best quality trading between £170 and £190.

COWS & CALVES
An entry of 30 cows and calves met with a sound trade and with the sun shining demand is slowly increasing. Three Limousin x 1st calvers with Limousin calves at foot from DP & RE Evans, Moel-y-Garth, sold for £2150, £2380 and £2000. D Roberts, Rolly Farm, Knockin, sold 4 British Blue x 1st calvers with Limousin calves at foot (2 heifers, 2 Bulls) from £1780 to £2220 to average £1980.
F J Owens & Co, Llettygynfach, sold 2 Blonde x cows with Blonde heifer calves for £1770 and £1720.
