Rural hub opens in Welshpool

14/06/2018 @ 07:04

A dedicated “rural hub” providing a one-stop shop for landowners and the agricultural community in Mid Wales and Shropshire has been opened at Welshpool Livestock Sales.

The new team has been formed through the recent merger of Morris, Marshall and Poole and Norman Lloyd chartered surveyors and estate agents.

Made up of rural professionals, the team provides services ranging from sales and lettings of farms and smallholdings, Single Farm Payments applications and entitlement enquiries, to dispersal sales, planning, pipeline and compensation claims and marketing and sales of livestock.

Morris, Marshall and Poole and Norman Lloyd had previously been partners in Welshpool Livestock Sales, one of Europe’s largest livestock marts, which is now part of the newly merged business.

“We have a highly experienced team of rural professionals and after the merger it made sense to bring them together to form a one-stop hub at our facility at Buttington Cross where the existing livestock market is,” said Richard Evans, a partner at Morris, Marshall and Poole with Norman Lloyd.

“While they are located at the site which makes it ideal for farmers and landowners attending the weekly and regular livestock sales, the team also head out to clients throughout the region.

“They are specialists in everything from dealing with planning matters, through to farm dispersal sales to land valuation, sales and letting.”

New offices have been set up within the livestock centre which has easy accessibility.

The centre, alongside the main A483 and A458 roundabout, also has dedicated meeting and conference facilities which can be hired for events and functions.

“The livestock centre is at the heart of the local agricultural community. It’s often the only place many farmers have the opportunity to meet others at the regular sales, so it’s more than just a market. By strengthening our presence there we are making it even easier for the community to have easy access to a range of rural and agricultural services,” added Richard.
