OTMS (35)
A slightly larger number of OTM cattle on offer this week, seeing a top price of £1213.44 (158ppkg) for a Limousin x OTM weighing in at 703kg from DT & ME & ML Jones, Gelli Farm. Younger cows (48-72 months) topped a £1036 (140ppkg) for a Limousin x weighing 740kg from G P Pugh & Son, The Garth. Heifers under 48 months topped at £1131.20(160ppkg) for a Limousin x heifer weighing 707kg from DT & ME & ML Jones, Gelli Farm. D W Evans & Sons, Tymawr reached 151ppkg for a 419kg Charolais x steer under 48 months making £632.69.

OTM Cows (25) 110.79ppkg / £776.67.
Cows 48-72 Months (3) 124.93ppkg / £823.31.
Heifers Under 48 months (4) 128.98ppkg / £794.85.
Overall Average 115.87ppkg.

PRIME LAMBS (4235)
A larger number of lambs forward sold to an average of £168.25ppkg with a top price of 202ppkg.
Lights (323) to 178ppkg from G V Norris, Summerfield View. Others to 163ppkg from DW, VM & JW Jennings, Castellan Farm. Average of 152.34ppkg.
Standards (1052) to 190ppkg from E B Ellis, Penisarcwm and also from B Llewellyn, Great Brithdir. Others to 187ppkg from J Meredith, Lodge Farm. Average of 167.22ppkg.
Mediums (1773) to 202ppkg from I E Roberts & Son, Maesdyfnant. Also to 200ppkg from E B Ellis, Penisarcwm. Average of 170.87ppkg.
Heavies (796) to 194ppkg from D I Roberts & Son, Stingwern. Others to 183ppkg from Probert & Probert, Lower Hill. Average of 164.51ppkg.

CULL SHEEP (2337)
An entry of 2324 cull ewes, achieved an average of £40 this was up on last week average by £4. Ewes peaked at £117 presented by D T A Williams, Upper Bolbro. Well fleshed ewes were very much in demand. D L Jones, Falcondale presented an excellent run of Texel x ewes. 40 ewes achieving an average of £108. Poorer quality ewes were still hard sold.
Overall trade was slightly sharper.

BREEDING EWES
A similar number of entries this week seeing 950 or there about breeding ewes and breeding lambs entering ring 4.
Trade peaked at £120 for yearling ewes from T S Davies, Brynmawr with others reaching £112 from G & H Jerman, Tynyrwta.
The sale was dominated by Mules and Welsh stock including two year olds peaking at £80 from E J Lewis, Rhoslas.
Full mouth ewes reached £75 from A Pugh, Garthbwt and as found ewes peaked at £56 from A M Jones, Middle Farm with others at £51 from the same home.
Breeding ewe lambs saw a maximum price of £110 from W R L Price & Co, Pencwm, with others from the same home reaching £100.

STORE LAMBS
A larger entry of 1100 this Monday topping at £69.
Theave lambs sold to £66.50 from E Jones & Son, Penbontpren, with others reaching £65 from G M Davies, Manledd Isaf.
Mixed and clean lambs sold to £65 from G W Jones, Henfryn, with others to £63 from P Andrews, Lower Fachwen.
Wether lambs peaked at £60 from H J Marsh & Son, Stokesay Castle Farm, with others to £56 from J Wyatt, Red Lion.
Tup lambs to £69 from K G Huxley, Maes Y Bryn, with others to £67 from M G & M Fox, Sychnant.
Overall average - £53.60
