Finance Manager

OverallManaging all finance and accounting operations. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and reporting variances. Overseeing HR, Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements reporting to the directors.

Responsibilities

Sage 200

Responsible for the Sage 200 Accounts system

Implement and maintain controls and systems within accounting team

Monthly accounts and reporting

Provide management with reports on project cost, revenues and profitability as required

Prepare monthly Income and Expenditure accounts and Balance Sheets

Bank

Reconcile current account on a daily basis

Reconcile all other accounts (deposit/credit card/petty cash etc ) on a regular basis

Manage the company’s cash flow

Sales

Review sales invoices to ensure properly allocated to projects

Oversee credit control to ensure debtor monies received on agreed terms

Purchases

Review and manage supplier ledger to ensure suppliers are paid on agreed terms

Carry out purchase ledger supplier reconciliations

Nominal

Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations including wages, PAYE, and CIS control accounts

Set up New nominal accounts as required

Ensure all postings to nominal codes are made to correct codes

Hire purchase – prepare postings for new agreements and maintain monthly reconcilations

Reconcile inter company and director loan accounts

Projects

Control opening and closing of projects on Sage

Review allocations and ensure costs and revenues are allocated to the correct project

Ensure duplicate projects are not set up

Review and control pay rates used in projects and ensure full employment costs are recovered

Review overhead allocation to ensure over or under recovery remains reasonable

Prepare profitability reports from Sage and discuss with management as apprpriate

Stock

Ensure regular stock checks (possibly on a rolling basis) are carried out

Check stock allocations are correctly made on sage onan appropriate basis

Assets

Maintain asset register with all company assets and amend for all additions and disposals

Prepare depreciation calculations for monthly accounts

VAT

Complete quarterly VAT returns and submit to HMRC

Payroll

Prepare payroll on appropriate software for company employees

Ensure Auto enrolment obligations are met and deductions are made and submitted on time

Ensure RTI (Real Time Information) reports are completed and submitted on time

Subcontractors

Maintain subcontractor payments ledger

Ensure monthly CIS returns are prepared and submitted on time

Year-end accounts

Prepare year-end balance sheet and Profit and Loss account with supporting workings to provide to reporting accountants
