Inventory Controller

Working closely with the Production & Procurement departments, the Inventory Controller will help to ensure the accuracy of stock holding by executing control measures. This role is critical to bolster the financial integrity of the Welshpool site by maintaining the Company’s stocked material. The role would suit someone who has had previous experience managing inventory control systems & ERP’s that they are able to use to develop and support a manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will have timber knowledge with experience in a production & warehouse environment. Knowledge of SAP and an understanding of MRP systems would be highly advantageous.

The candidate will have strong analytical & problem solving skills whilst being process driven and methodical.

What “wood” you be doing?

• Develop the Site Inventory Management plan with the aim of:

- Controlling costs within budgetary limits;

- Generating savings;

- Rationalising inventory;

- Maximizing available working capital.

• Manage & maintain the company’s material & stocked product inventory

• Manage & control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks

• Minimise overstocks & removal of obsolete / redundant raw materials

• Maintain, develop & follow written procedures for inventory control processes and functions

• Ensure materials are ready & available for production as & when required

• Managing and run planned stock takes

• Investigate, correct & report on stock discrepancies

• Check & adjust shop floor data

• Ensure integrity & accuracy of the stock management system

• Supply year end audit information for internal & external audits

• Manage Production & Warehouse Operatives to drive the TIPs continuous improvement initiative
