Welshpool firm wins Queen’s Award

A Welshpool company has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

Zip-Clip Ltd is one of 201 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Announced today (Tuesday), the firm has been acknowledged for its excellence in international trade.

Zip-Clip manufactures wire suspension systems for a wide variety of applications including electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation, signage and seismic industries at its premises in Welshpool (pictured).

The company was founded by Matthew Clay-Michael and Steven Goldsworthy in 2004 and exports its products to over 30 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and throughout Europe.

In 2011 the company established Zip-Clip in France and in 2018 Zip-Clip in Australia was established to further develop and support its export market.

Mr Goldsworthy, CEO, said: “It is an honour to receive such a prestigious award as the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.”

Now in its 53rd year, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Award emblem for the next five years.

Mr Clay-Michael, Managing Director, added: “The award is for all our staff and highlights the hard work and dedication throughout the years.”

Zip-Clip Ltd will celebrate its award during a royal reception for Queen’s Awards winners in June.
