A larger number of lambs forward sold to anther very good, strong competitive trade throughout with a large number of buyers present ensuring keen bidding on all weights and grades. The sale began with the Christmas show lambs which were of outstanding quality and sold to a tremendous trade. Many thanks to the Judge Mr James Gittins and all Vendors and Purchasers who helped make a success of the show and sale. In the commercial lambs all weights and grades were in good demand especially the better bred, well fleshed lambs. Lighter weight lambs sold the a very strong trade for both the hill and better bred lambs with again some of these again going back out on farm as store lambs. Export and supermarket weight lambs also sold strongly with plenty of pens selling above 200ppkg. Heavy weight lambs continue to meet good competitive bidding with these averaging very nearly 190ppkg and being as well sold as any. Any over fat lambs were the only types that were difficult to sell. Hopefully trade will continue at these price levels and gradually improve so Vendors are encouraged to keep drawing and selling well fleshed lambs.
