New Racing Manager joins Yorton Stud
A well-known auctioneer is taking up a new position as Racing Manager at Yorton Farm, the Welshpool stud owned by James & Jean Potter.
George Stanners is leaving renowned Thoroughbred Auctioneers Goffs to take up a newly created position with Yorton Stud, based at Leighton Farm.
“Stud Director Dave Futter and James Potter simply approached me and after lots of initial thought the three of us sat around a table and thrashed it all out,” Mr Stanners told The Racing Post.
“My new role is essentially to share the front of house duties with Dave Futter. There has been so much going on at Yorton in recent years that he has probably been spread a little too thinly so I will become the link for many breeders, trainers, owners, agents – whoever is interested in doing business with us,” he said.
