Record week for mywelshpool

16/01/2012 @ 05:40

Mywelshpool is investing more money into improving your user experience after recording a record week.

Google informs us that our daily visitor numbers reached 1,500 on most days and spiked at almost 3,000 computers logging on for one 24-hour period. These are staggering numbers when you consider only 7,000 people live in the town itself.

These figures highlight the site’s popularity across the wider Welshpool area and also your thirst for everything local.

Our 2012 plan included a £2,000 investment for greater server space which basically means more room to cope with increasing demand but last week has made that investment even more pressing.

This week we hope to start transferring both mywelshpool and mynewtown – which also enjoyed an incredible week – onto the new facility. It may mean some interruption at peak times but we will do what we can to ensure the site remains online 24 hours a day seven days a week.

We have also enjoyed more interest from potential advertisers wishing to join the local businesses currently benefiting from exposure to thousands of local customers.

Mywelshpool and mynewtown are free sites and always will be. However, this is only possible thanks to the incredible support we receive from local businesses who place their faith in us. All we ask is that you, our readers, give your local business the chance to call you a customer.

We will continue to do our best to keep you informed so look out for some new features over the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you wish to get in touch with a story, advertising enquiry or just an opinion, contact us at editor@mywelshpool.co.uk.
