16/07/2012 @ 04:49

Local distribution firm Speed Welshpool has been recognised for its excellence in delivering the highest possible standards of customer service by Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network.

Based in Welshpool, the company collects and delivers small consignments of palletised freight to customers in the SY and LD postcode areas. It received a Platinum award for maintaining top levels of service in the Palletways Partnership League.

The news comes days after the launch of the company’s new website (www.speedwelshpool.com) which gives customers the benefit of a host of new functionalities, including the ability to book and pay for jobs online.

Phil Edwards, Principal of Speed Welshpool, said after receiving the award from the night’s guest speaker, Simon Weston: “I’m delighted to have secured Platinum status as it shows our commitment to providing our customers with the highest level of service and cost-efficiency.”

As part of its wider strategy to deliver exceptional customer service, Palletways launched a nationwide Partnership League in 2007 to recognise the quality of commitment and co-operation amongst its network of over 100 members, which includes Speed Welshpool. The assessment process is based on a number of categories, including performance and commitment to the local areas in which they are located. Platinum Status represents the highest levels achievable by the member companies.

Martyn Young, Palletways UK Managing Director, said: “I’d like to thank Speed Welshpool for their commitment to our network. Particularly in today’s economic climate, it’s vital for our customers to know they can expect and will receive the highest possible levels of customer service.”

The Palletways Group is made up of 300 depots and 10 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 11 European countries, including the UK. The Group’s distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share resources to deliver small consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively.
