Tickets for the Powys Business Award Gala Dinner taking place at the end of the month at Hafren in Newtown, are completely sold out.

Organisers Mid Wales Manufacturing Group have been staggered by the continued level of demand and all 220 places have been filled and a waiting list is in operation.

The Gala Dinner celebrates Business excellence in Powys and offer great benefits, according to one of this year’s sponsors.  Chartered accountants, Turner Peachey, are sponsors of the Small Business Award in this year’s contest.

A spokesperson said their sponsorship take-up had been aimed at promoting local business and encouraging the ambition that will help the regional economy to grow

She said: “Small businesses are the backbone of the British economy, and in Powys they are even more important in providing the jobs and economic growth that the area needs.

“ For this reason Turner Peachey are especially pleased to support the Small Business Award at the Powys Business Awards. We support and advise the SME sector across the region and we hope that sponsoring the award will help to promote local business and encourage the ambition that will help the regional economy to recover.”

This year’s Awards Dinner takes place on Friday 28 September at Theatr Hafren, Newtown and the food will be prepared and served by students at Coleg Powys and Llanfair Caereinion High School.

Chris Yapp food and beverage lecturer, at Coleg Powys  “We will be very happy to provide work experience to the pupils of Llanfair Caereinion high school. We have a long standing relationship with the school and this is the tenth year we have provided work experience.  Providing dinner for 220 guests is no mean feat using seasonal ingredients cooked fresh on the day of the event.”
