A fertile 384-acre arable farm on the Welsh border with Shropshire, which included a pair of refurbished cottages and a purpose-built grain store, has sold for £4.85 million.
The sale of Marrington Cottages Farm at Chirbury, near Montgomery was agreed at a private auction.
The purchaser, Fraser Jones of Court Calmore, Montgomery, said he was delighted to have had the opportunity to purchase such a good farm and sizeable block of land so close to his dairy operation.
Halls’ chairman Peter Willcock, who conducted the auction, said: “The price achieved for this farm reflects the scarcity of supply of good quality arable land in the Welsh borderlands area.”
