Our Twitter followers pass 1,500!

To the rest of Britain, Powys is a technology backwater and the service provided by the mobile and broadband giants hardly helps!

But MyTown Media Ltd is bucking the trend through the incredible numbers visiting our sites and we reached yet another excellent milestone at the weekend, thanks to you.

Twitter followers for MyWelshpool crashed through the 1,500-barrier with an average of 100 new readers receiving their news tweets every month!

The increase of social media followers across our four platforms – MyWelshpool, MyNewtown, MyRadnor and MyBrecon – goes hand-in-hand with the continual rise in visitors to our sites with March’s figures showing that over 21,000 unique visitors logged on. We also now have almost 8,000 people following us on either Facebook or Twitter.

Last week, MyNewtown joined MyWelshpool in entering the ‘app’ age to ensure that we continue to make it easy for you to access your news. It represents a big investment from us but you are worth it. Powys deserves to receive a world-class standard of local news delivery… and, as always, it is totally free.

None of this would of course be possible without the superb support from our growing band of advertisers who benefit from levels of exposure that local news has never been able to deliver before. We have even more exciting news on this to come so watch this space!
