Hall Street’s community clean-up!

Hall Street is all spruced up and ready for summer, thanks to the efforts of its traders who carried out a clean-up on Sunday.

The street has become popular with the introduction of new businesses and a restaurant over the last year which have revitalised a key part of the town centre.

And the end result for a day of scrubbing, cleaning and clearing (pictured) was a street that is as good as new!

Brian Jones of Bistro 7, said: “It was great to see the community spirit from businesses and the goodwill was evident by the way everyone had  given their free time to improve the busy Street in time for summer.”

Adults and children alike clubbed together to brush, scrub and power wash from top to bottom, even removing graffiti and pigeon poo from the stonework of the Town Hall.

‘Tall’ Dan, representing the Town Clerk, put in a full day’s work for no pay, remarking that he was pleased to be involved in the cleanup and that it was “wonderful to see how everyone had come together to improve their environment”.
