Firefighters car wash fundraiser

27/05/2016 @ 07:18

Firefighters taking on The Three Peaks Challenge are planning a fund raising car wash tomorrow (Saturday).

The Welshpool team will take up the challenge on June 16, climbing Britain’s three highest peaks – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - in just 24 hours to raise money for two hospitals.

Their chosen causes are Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Unit at the Princess Royal in Telford. Firefighter Russell Pugh recently donated a kidney to his son, with the operation taking place at the Children’s Hospital.

Station Officer Brendan McWhinnie will be one of the team said it was all systems go for the challenge. “We’ve been in training and even went up Snowdon last week. It’s all for two really good causes and we hope people turn up for the car wash on Saturday and support us.”
