Green fingered volunteers needed

23/07/2016 @ 08:20
A local historic venue is seeking green-fingered volunteers in conjunction with the Powys Volunteer Bureau.

Gregynog Hall, which used to be home to the philanthropists Margaret and Gwendoline Davies until its was bequeathed to Aberystwyth University, is seeking volunteers to help its staff as part of a new scheme.

“We are looking to recruit gardening volunteers to help in our Grade 1 listed garden at Gregynog Hall,” said Michiel Blees.

“If you have a few hours to spare and would like to work in a team, then get in touch. Duties would include dead heading and weeding so enthusiasm is more important than previous gardening experience and your input would be enjoyed by all of our guests and visitors.”

Michiel added: “Transport from Newtown can be arranged and we would provide you with a cream tea at the end of the afternoon.”

“Hours would generally be 10.30am – 3.30pm with days to be decided. We are hoping to start the scheme at the end of August.”

If you are interested contact Michiel at Powys Volunteer Centre, 01597 822191 or e.mail michiel.blees@pavo.org.uk
