The annual Keep Welshpool Tidy Week will run from March 13-19 and is being organised by the town council in coordination with Keep Wales Tidy.
The aim of the week is for local groups, clubs and residents to take a proactive approach in ‘tidying up’ the town.
Anybody interested in getting involved are encouraged to attend the organised events during the week:
Monday, March 13: The week begins with a litter pick at Maesydre Recreation Ground, meeting at the Tourist Information Centre at 10am.
Tuesday, March 14: Wild meadow planting at the Tourist Information Centre, meeting at 10am.
Sunday March 19: ‘Community Spring Clean Day’ to carry out numerous cleaning tasks around the town. Meeting at the Tourist Information Centre at 10am to finish at 12 noon.
“Alternatively, choose an area of the town which you believe needs a ‘tidy’, and tackle the problem at a time which best suits, but please register your interest with Welshpool Town Council, on town.clerk@welshpooltowncouncil.gov.uk,” said a spokesperson.
