Most of us want to get fit, or lose weight, for a variety of reasons but our friends at Great Fitness say it is best not to focus on one area but to spread it around!
Personal trainer Charlie Proctor said ideally we should be aiming for two-three sessions a week.
He said: “A good example of an average week could be:
Session 1 – Upper body
Session 2 – Lower body
Session 3 – Core and cardio
“This is a very effective way of targeting your whole body over your week’s worth of gym sessions.
“If you only manage two work outs a week, just add some core and cardio work into both sessions. Splitting the sessions up like this allows you get into a consistent routine and helps you plan what you’re going to do in the gym.”
