Such was the response to our 30 days of fitness during April, out health and fitness partners Great Escape are back for another quick burst of advice before the summer kicks in.

Our ‘Dozen Days of Fitness’ will see the lads from Great Fitness, based out of the old Pola building, give us some free advice on how we can make some key lifestyle changes… over to you fellas:

“For the next 12 days we have some exercise and nutritional challenges for you all as summer is here, and all the hard work in 2017 so far will hopefully have got you to a fitness level you’re happy with.

“We’ve got some much more advanced exercises that we want everybody to attempt, along with some regular diet tips that will benefit you a lot. Feel free to send us videos of how easy or hard you may find the exercises, and any healthy meals or recipes you may come up with. Good luck!

“The first exercise is walking lunges (which our clients will be more than familiar with!). Grab some dumb bells/kettle bells which you’ll be just holding by your sides, and perform alternate lunges over a distance of around 10m or so. We usually split them up into three or four sets of our studio length.

“The first advice we have on the dietary side of things is try to reduce your daily sugar intake. Sugar gets stored in your body as fat, so when you have say two sugars in your tea, it all adds up. “Try to make small changes like reducing the amount of tea spoons you have, and cut down on your everyday chocolate snacks!”
