Two elephants missing in town

05/07/2017 @ 07:38

There are two elephants on the loose in town, but don’t panic as they are not rampaging down Severn Street but nevertheless they are desperately being hunted to return ‘home’.

Grungrog School invites kids to take home class mascots Nellie and Ellie to be looked after by the children, but the pair have done a runner leaving the kids distraught.

And mother Sara Wildblood has held her hand up to accept responsibility but is leading the appeal to find them.

“I’m a very guilty feeling parent, whose little girl brought home two soft toy elephants from school to be ‘looked after’ by the child,” she admitted.

“We took the elephants with us on Friday to do our jobs - Welshpool launderette, Tesco and the ice cream van ride outside Tesco. But Nellie and Ellie have not been seen since.

“I feel terrible and would like to appeal to the public that if you have seen them or picked them up thinking they were abandoned that we need them back. The children of Gungrog are missing them a lot and want them back in school where they are happiest.

The elephants are pictured here but Nellie has a cut all the way up her tummy which a kind parent has stitched up with black cotton.

“I feel so terrible and I don't know what else I can do to try to find them so would be hugely grateful if anyone can help,” said Sara.

If you have them or know of where they might be, let us know at editor@mywelshpool.co.uk or contact the school direct.
