Ever thought about becoming a police officer? Now's your chance. Dyfed Powys Police is to host a recruitment event next week.

The force will hold a recruitment evening, attended by serving police officers who will be on hand to discuss their jobs, at The Elephant and Castle Hotel in Newtown on January 8th between 6pm to 8pm.

"Becoming a police officer is a challenging and rewarding career, but it is not just any job. The officers appointed will work directly with and make a very positive contribution to communities across Dyfed-Powys. Policing with the Community is at the very centre of everything we do as a police service and as such, it is vital that we are representative of our communities," said a force spokesperson.

"Dyfed-Powys Police is therefore particularly interested in recruiting more people from our diverse communities in order to be fully representative of the communities we serve.

"As part of the focused campaign to recruit, a series of Application Workshops will take place across Dyfed-Powys. The sessions will provide information and encouragement to interested applicants to guide them through the recruitment and selection process.

"These workshops are aimed at promoting awareness of the role of a police officer, how to write a successful application form and encouraging applications from under-represented groups."

Included in the sessions will be a presentation from an assessor of Police Officer applications around completing the application form and information from the force Positive Action Officer

Also present will be police officers who will be able to talk about their role.

If you would like further information about the Application Workshops, contact Nia Rees on 01267 226119 or email equalityanddiversity@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk

Applications open on the 8th January 2018.
