Volunteers needed

At ‘A Voice for You’ they are passionate about making sure that people with a learning disability in our area are valued and respected and now they need more volunteers.

Imagine how great it feels to help someone have their voice heard and get out and about in the community.  

A Voice For You has just launched an appeal for new volunteers to join their team of advocates. The free induction training we provide will help equip you to undertake such a role.

One of our volunteers Sarah Parry-Roberts, is pictured helping at the social club run by the charity.

“I attended A Voice for You induction training sessions last year and really enjoyed them – all the sessions were informative and fun,” she said. “It is a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and do something which will really make a difference to the lives of vulnerable people.”

“Having an advocate is very special for a person with a learning disability. Imagine only having contact with people who are paid to support you from day to day.

“Imagine, how marvelous it is then to have someone independent who chooses to be there for you and make sure you are listened to and that your rights are defended. What a difference that makes.”
