Beer drinkers pledge support

Local beer drinkers have pledged support for the area’s hard working pubs this summer.

The Montgomeryshire Branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) announced after its packed annual meeting at the Railway Tavern, Newtown, that members will be doing their bit to boost local takings and are encouraging other local residents to back their local boozers.

“The branch decided that the main focus of its activity over the summer months will be to support the village pubs in the branch area, many of who (like Carno Festival on June 2) are holding small beer festivals this year,” said Montgomeryshire CAMRA’s Gareth Marston.

“As well as supporting as many of these events as possible, the ever popular and already sold out CAMRA Village Pub Bus will be touring the Rhiew Valley area on Saturday, June 16.”
