Welshpool Medical Centre is now taking bookings from local residents who are eligible for free flu jabs.

The doctors warn that the flu season is upon us with a bad bout much worse than a heavy cold. The most common symptoms of flu are fever, chills, headache, aches and pains and extreme tiredness.

They say that healthy individuals usually recover within two-seven days, but for some the flu can lead to hospitalisation with it being unpredictable, but flu vaccination provides the best protection.
