Can we become Britain’s best high street?

21/10/2018 @ 10:50

Welshpool’s bid to win the Great British High Street Awards will reach its peak on Tuesday when the judges visit town.

Welshpool is on a shortlist of British towns in the running for the award, and just one of four from Wales alongside Crickhowell, Carmarthen and Holywell, so it is hoped we will all play our part in making an impression on Tuesday.

The flags are out and the street team is putting in its usual hard work to ensure the town has never looked better with the theme ‘All Things Cymru’ being used for traders to embrace.

Town Clerk, Robert Robinson, said: “We, as a town, have been very lucky to have received this opportunity, but it wouldn't have been possible without the efforts of all businesses on our wonderful high street. It would be brilliant to see everyone getting involved.”

A promotional van will be parked close to the Town Hall from 10am giving out free merchandise and information encouraging people to vote for Welshpool.
