Understanding Mencap’s work

A delegation from Llanfyllin Town Council visited a local charity to form a better understanding of their work.

The Mayor Cllr Simon Baynes, Deputy Mayor Cllr Tracey Windsor, Cllr Lynnette Kretchmer and David Weston visited Mencap Llanfyllin to learn more about their work and activities. 

Cllr Baynes said: “We were very impressed by all the questions we were asked and did our best to provide informative answers. We enjoyed meeting everyone at Mencap and, in particular, seeing the woodwork workshop.” 

Alison Barrett, Manager of Mencap Llanfyllin, said: “We all enjoyed the Town Council’s visit and learning more about the work of the Council. We are keen to build strong links with them in the future and were very pleased that the Councillors said they would roll up their sleeves and help paint our kitchen!”
