Charity Ladies Night

12/07/2019 @ 09:37

Organisers of a Ladies Night are looking for support in their bid to raise money and awareness of the Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre.

Julie Arnold, who is a Welshpool Town Councillor, says she is one of the one-in-four women in Britain to have experienced domestic abuse in her lifetime.

And after being supported by the Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre Julie is planning the event along with Julie Langton of the Bay Tree Vintage Tea Rooms & Cocktail Bar in Welshpool to raise badly needed funds.

“The Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre supported and guided me not only to survive my experiences but to thrive, by building my confidence, encouraging independence and enabling me to move forward and develop a respectful relationship,” said Julie.

“The Bay Tree will be playing host to a Ladies Night on September 21 and we are looking for prizes to raffle and auction. I do hope you can support the fundraiser.

“If you are able to donate please let us know if you are happy for us to mention your name or business to publicise your support via social media.

“This fundraiser will not only be raising valuable funds, but is to raise awareness of MFCC service. The more people in our communities talk about domestic abuse the more victims find the strength to seek help, potentially saving lives

“The money we raise will be donated to the Children & Young People Support Team. The STAR Club is a fun and relaxed, yet safe and confidential environment which provides young children with the opportunity to explore their feelings around domestic abuse.”

There will be live music from Dai Robs and Rob Picken, a raffle and auction and a “Butler In The Buff” attraction.

If you think you can help or want to attend contact the Bay Tree or just call in for more information.
