Grant pays for play area return

A multi-play area at Maesydre Recreation Ground is to be restored – and it won’t cost the council a penny.

Members of the Town Council’s finance committee heard last night that grant funding had been sourced to replace the equipment and the job will be done before the end of March.

The agenda said the play area site had been cleared following a report from ROSPA but now a £4,000 grant had been sourced and the money had to be spent and the site re-fitted by March 31.

The committee vice-chairman, Councillor Estelle Blievas said: “It is really important to point out that this work will be achieved at zero cost to the town council.”

The work will be carried out for £3,902 the report said.
