Welshpool Town Council is pressing ahead with plans to reinstate annual events which were cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions last year.
The council’s Events & Tourism Committee is recommending the restoration of the Winter Festival, the Christmas Lights switch-on, the annual Fireworks Display, a Teddy Bear’s Picnic and Easter competitions.
The committee will ask the full council on Wednesday night to approve spending £4,767 on Christmas lights, £3,000 on fireworks and to commit to replacing street bunting for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
