Pupils enjoy an American dream
The school teamed up with Challenger Sport, who are the biggest football coaching organisation in America, to enjoy time in the States coaching kids at their one of their South California camps.
The students stayed with host families and at weekends had time to themselves to travel or move to another location to coach.
Each one went through an interview process which involved attending the Global Coaching Conference, and had to deliver a practical session that was assessed.
“All five students are incredible ambassadors for the LLS sports course and Welshpool High School, they have worked incredibly hard and achieved outstanding grades,” said a high school spokesperson.
“This has been combined with work placements that have really helped develop their skills. All have had a range of experiences, working with the PE department, local primary schools and community.”
