Happy 1st Birthday!

Time flies when you are having fun so it is not surprising that it only seems like yesterday that mywelshpool was launched!

That’s right, we are only a year old this week and while it may feel like we have been around forever, it seems like last night when TV celebrity Sian Lloyd pressed the ‘on’ switch to send us live to the world.

It has been a fascinating 12 months and we could never have predicted just how well received we would have been by the people from the Welshpool area.

And leading our ‘happy birthday’s’ this weekend is MP Glyn Davies who admits to being an avid reader of mywelshpool, even when he is Westminster.

He said: “I am pleased to see that mywelshpool has proved to be such a success, taking advantage of the new ways in which we want our news delivered. It’s very much the news media of the future, giving immediacy and easy access to the latest happenings in the Welshpool area. I can see mywelshpool being even more successful over the next year."

Montgomeryshire AM Russell George has also congratulated us saying: “For mywelshpool to receive more than 1,000 visitors every day demonstrates the increasing success of online media. I would like to congratulate mywelshpool on a successful first year.”

We have enjoyed bringing you the latest news, sport, business and features and look forward to continuing for a long time to come!

It may be happy birthday to us, but it is happy birthday to everybody who has contributed to the site’s remarkable success.
