Big free thank-you concert

09/07/2012 @ 12:15

Quindici, the highly-acclaimed Montgomeryshire chamber choir, is celebrating 10 years by throwing a free celebration concert.

The afternoon of music entitled In Praise of Music is being held on Sunday July, 15 in St. Cynon’s, Tregynon, with Director, Suzanne Edwards, explaining: “It is a thank-you for everyone who has supported us in the last 10 years – whether that has been as audience members, other musical groups we have performed with, soloists, organisations who have invited us to sing for them, or venues we have been fortunate to perform in.

“It’s going to be a wonderful occasion where we will be welcoming friends from all over the country to join with us in celebrating all things Quindici!”

The afternoon will begin in the church at 3pm with a concert featuring music from the choir’s extensive repertoire. Tea will then be served at The Old Shop, home of Clive and Elizabeth Edwards, and the afternoon will conclude with a service of Choral Evensong at 5.30pm, again in St. Cynon’s.

Suzanne added: “We’re especially pleased to be performing in Tregynon Church, as it was as a fund raising event for the Church that Quindici was formed back in 2001. The concert programme will feature music from the last 10 years that has particular significance to us, and we’re especially looking forward to leading the Choral Evensong with Stanford’s Magnificat and Nunc Dimitis in C. Our organist, and my Co-Director of Quindici, Tim Mills, will be joining us from his home in Glasgow.”

While the concert is free, there will be a collection for the Church.
