Ladies and gentlemen... Steve

Mywelshpool music columnist, Dave Roberts, highlights a ‘new’ artist who has quietly joined the local music scene and will be performing at both Waterloofest and Leighton School Fun Day before the summer is out.

“Writing this article gives me great pleasure. It could be a fairytale. A bedroom singer with little confidence who finally decided to go out and show everybody what they can do to great applause. Yet it is not for the applause that he does it, he simply loves performing and it is very obvious to anyone that has watched him. This is about a great guy who always pulls a great crowd... Steve Edwards (right).

“I have watched Steve from his very early gigs where he wowed the crowd at Welshpool music festival, before playing a very accomplished set at Oak Live and then recently, finally, standing on a stage under the lights at the Crash Festival... where I would say he belongs.

“He plays crowd pleasing cover songs with a massive energy and the thing I always comment on after his gigs is the wonderfully smooth tone to his vocals. The most impressive thing about Steve is that he gets better every time and that as his confidence grows so will his performances, so we have yet to see the best of him.

“If you want to catch Steve making all your favourite songs his own, he will be starring at Waterloofest on Sunday and headlining Leighton School Fun Day on September 1.”
