The Changing Colours of Autumn!

03/09/2012 @ 08:20

She may be sunning herself next to the pool in Cyprus, but our columnist Sarah Rowlands, from purebeauty, has delivered her first Monday of the month look at what’s hot in the beauty world along with another great reader offer.

This month is all about Autumn Inspiration... and I believe it is the most fashion focused season of the year... and we have a couple of great offers for you so keep reading later on!

Following the buzz at fashion week, think deep dark variations of red, navy and creamy tones of beige for your finger tips. Essies new collection 'Styleonomics' mirrors exactly what Autumn is all about: rustic reds, woody browns, forest pine greens and neutral beiges with a dash of urban freshness. The collection suits all tastes and wearability of these shades makes this my favourite collection yet. High gloss, long wearing colour that intends to help your nails look a million dollars!

Try 'Miss Fancy Pants' a classy greige or 'Skirting the Issue' as a slinky and subversive burgundy. As you can tell, we at purebeauty are really excited about using this collection on our nail clients and urge everybody to throw away your corals and pastels from the summer and submerge yourself into the warm cosy tones of Autumn.

With the colder months approaching, make-up has to change, the beach babe bronzed highlighted cheek look has to go! Fresh faced beauty is what it’s all about by keeping complexions cool and creamy. Rosy cheeks for a flushed just-been-for-a-walk-in-the-woods look and lips kept colourful with shades of berry and red. This look is great whatever your age. It’s lively, fresh and looks great when you’re wrapped up in your knits.

When the mood changes and you’re after a night time look, think colour! I’m talking cobalt blue, lilacs and army greens to make your eyes dazzle, go bold and create a cat-like effect, ditch the smokey eyes for a while and keep the colour block for a rockin look.

Now just because we’re all going to start wearing chunky cardigans, scarfs and boots, it doesn't mean you have to hide your body away and forget about it until next spring! This is a big beauty no-no. It is very important to keep your skin supple and moisturised all year round. Try Oe Peppermint and eucalyptus body rubbing salts, a lively blend of essential oils which will wake you up in the morning while sloughing away those dead skin cells. It really gets the circulation going, banishing cellulite and bringing a healthy glow to the skin’s surface. If you haven't got time in the mornings, then why not treat yourself to a spa treatment?

Readers Special offer 1:

Subtle tanning is a must too. No one wants to feel pale and pasty but be careful not to overdo it. Invest in a tan with good moisturising properties like Xen-Tan Deep Bronze (£24.95) which is a once weekly tan that suits all skin types. It smells delicious and is a joy to use, remember body confidence is all about looking the best you can no matter what time of year.

So if you’re wondering “which colours will suit me best and how do I apply it?” at purebeauty we have another great offer for you!
