Yo-Ho-Ho! All aboard Santa Express

It may not be the Pola Express but Santa has promised to board the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway for two weekends in December.

The Santa Specials on December 15-16 and 22-23 have proved popular in the past and provide an ideal opportunity to taste some Christmas spirit.

Chldren travelling on the line can look forward to meeting Santa and his helpers, who join the train en-route. They walk through the warm steam-heated carriages distributing presents to each child.

All trains run from Llanfair Caereinion, the journey taking around 45 minutes. Back at Llanfair afterwards adults will be offered a complimentary glass of warming mulled wine and every child a fruit drink, with a complimentary mince pie too.

The trains depart Llanfair at 10.45am, 12noon, 1.15pm and 2.30pm.
