All things bright and beautiful

It's the first Monday of the month and Sarah Rowlands of purebeauty is here to brighten up our day! This month Sarah is not feeling her age, launching new services and remembering the most important person... MUM!

Hello all. Hope you are all well, lovely to see some sunshine at the weekend, at last. It certainly does make you feel a lot brighter!

Just a quick round up of what's happened in February. I celebrated my BIG birthday, I can't believe I am 30 but still feel like I am 21! Thankfully I have been using a really good moisturiser since I was 18 so keeping the wrinkles at bay... for now!

Also been keeping up with my personal training with CM45 Fitness to make sure I don't get that middle aged spread haha!

I took a couple of days off work to spend with my sister and new nephew Oliver and celebrated my birthday with friends over the weekend at The Cornstore in Welshpool, drinking cocktails and eating Tapas. I had some lovely messages and gifts off people so thank-you very much. I now have enough wine to last me the rest of the year, so happy days!

There’s a few things coming up this month to keep us all busy.

The volume of bridal bookings coming in is fantastic. I am really pleased to be working alongside Lake Vyrnwy and looking to progress the make-up service we offer at the salon to cater for other events, not just weddings and parties. I studied theatrical make-up when I was in University studying Musical Theatre so it has always been a great interest of mine and I am currently looking for someone to help us cover other occasions such as Fashion shows, photo shoots and fancy dress parties. So, if you have an event coming up and would like to hire us to do the make-up, then please get in touch.

Mother's Day is approaching on March 10, so I thought I would take this time to write a little something about mine! She is a very generous and loving lady who is always doing something for someone else and is wonderful at her job looking after children. She is very funny (I guess that's where I get it from!) and makes a fantastic roast (I didn't take after her on that part!). We do lots of nice things together really enjoy going to the Oak Live music nights at the Royal Oak (you must check them out if you haven’t been).

I suppose I really appreciate the time spent with mum because four years ago we nearly lost her when she suffered from a blood clot on each lung which stopped her breathing. I remember it was the first day I was setting up the salon and if it hadn't have been for my dad being at home at the time who saw her drop to the floor and straight away called for help; and the fact that Gareth Derwas and Ann Ireland of Welshpool Ambulance Service arrived in under three minutes to revive her and get her to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, she would not be here with us today. My life would certainly never be the same. Doctors say it was a miracle she even survived so I think every day how lucky I am. And thank Welshpool Ambulance service for the incredible things you do.

So remember to treat your Mother this Mother’s Day and show her how much you care as you never know when they may not be around!

I have a lovely Mother’s Day Offer available this month, which can be purchased on a gift voucher or as a single treatment.

Mother's Day Offer: Mother and Daughter Pamper Package: Hot Stone Massage, Prescription Manicure and Tea and cakes for Only £40.00 each.

Whatever you are doing, have a great month and feel free to get on touch or pop in to see us at the salon for any advice.
