A clampdown on illegal travel passes has been launched, but an amnesty has been declared until April 13.
The clampdown has been launched by the Welsh Government and all ticket machines on local bus services will be adapted to stamp out illegal travel.
“To allow drivers and customers to become familiar with the process, an amnesty will be in place until April 13 when a pass holder can continue travelling on a public service bus for free, even if their pass has been cancelled,” confirmed a council spokesperson.
During this time, holders are advised to double check that their travel pass is in date.
From April 14, if the ticket machine indicates that a pass has been cancelled, the traveller will be asked to pay or get off.
