Students promoting health

Students from Coleg Powys, Newtown, have been encouraging their fellow students to take control of their health and wellbeing.
They have been spreading the word about keeping healthy and safe as part of both their Promoting Health Education Unit and Welsh Baccalaureate. 
Year 1 Health and Social Care students have been busily preparing and holding Health Promotion events, through which they have made information about safe sex and leading healthy life available to fellow students.
Two groups took on the challenge, offering Health Promotion events for Safe Sex and a Healthy Lifestyle.
"The events provided fellow students with the opportunity to take part in a range of interactive activities including games and a library of supporting literature.
"This was an excellent opportunity for the student population to gain a new perspective on important health issues in a familiar and accessible environment," said a college spokesperson.
