Welshpool Music Festival – Reloaded

26/06/2013 @ 03:45

Hot on the heels of the hugely successful Welshpool Music Festival last month, organisers have announced a ‘Reloaded’ event to be held at the Raven on July 6.

The Music Festival, run by volunteers and free to attend, attracted hundreds of people to the town’s pubs to watch 40 acts, but organisers couldn’t quite squeeze the Raven onto the schedule.

Instead the pub will have its own dedicated day, and be converted into a live music venue from 2pm until midnight, with admission again free.

A Festival spokesperson said: “It was with deep regret that we were unable to accommodate The Raven this year due to circumstances beyond our control so it is only right that we have this one-day event there. The landlords, Chris and Joe, have done a tremendous job in refurbishing the Raven’s interior and also support local music with a monthly Open Mic night on the second Wednesday of the month.”

Welshpool Music Festival raises money through donations which is put towards stage equipment such as PA Systems, monitors, mixers, mics, lighting and recording gear to be available free of charge to new local bands and solo artists for their own gigs.

Acts will be giving their time for free on July 6 and those conformed include: Thin Vision, John Meldrum & Adam Goodall, Off Axis, Rolo Benz, Rose Cheney, Naughty Alice, Jake Chesworth, Ollie Jones, The Infamous, Jack Taylor, Cool Kids Write In Blue, Cathy Beech, Scot Roberts, Sally Hope with more acts to be announced! Unfortunately Steve Edwards (pictured) has been forced to withdraw due to family commitments.
