Firefighters announce Midnight Walk

27/10/2010 @ 03:36

Welshpool’s firefighters are inviting the area to join them on their annual Midnight Walk, which will take place on November 20.
Last year, the firefighters raised more than £10,000 for Macmillans Cancer Research by organising a number of activities, with the popular walk alone contributing an incredible £4,000 with up to 500 people taking part.
This time they hope to beat that figure and the charity chosen to benefit will be Severn Hospice.
“After the popularity and success of last year’s midnight walk, the lads will be hosting another one which will hopefully prove just as popular,” said Russel Pugh, a spokesperson for the firefighters.
The night will consist of a five-mile walk around Welshpool and through the stunning grounds of Powys Castle. It will finish with refreshments at the station.
Walkers can register at Welshpool Fire Station, The Flash Leisure Centre or speak to any of the local firemen who will be more than happy to help. You can also contact Matt or Billy at the Flash on 01938 555952.
No sponsorship is required, just a £10 donation made payable when registering. Children under 16 can go free of charge on a one-to-one basis with an adult.

NOTE: You can also print out the registration form by clicking on the attachment below and dropping it off at the locations mentioned above.
